Our Story

In September 2020, Chris Federspiel, founder and CEO of Blackthorn.io, set out to build something that reached far beyond business. Inspired by his own journey and by the work of his wife, Sophie, whose career in humanitarian service and the United Nations shaped her understanding of global needs, the Federspiel Foundation was created. Their vision was to establish an organization that functioned not only as a charity but as a catalyst for hope, empowering individuals, removing obstacles, and strengthening communities for a brighter future.
